1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the after builders cleaning services provided by The After Builders Cleaning Company ("we," "us," or "our"). By booking our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before making a booking.

2. Service Description
The After Builders Cleaning Company provides professional post-construction and after builders cleaning services across Greater London. Our services include, but are not limited to:
- Removal of construction dust and debris
- Deep cleaning of all surfaces, fixtures, and fittings
- Window and glass cleaning
- Floor cleaning and polishing
- Kitchen and bathroom sanitisation
- Final sparkle clean for handover
The specific services included in your booking will be confirmed in your quotation and booking confirmation.
3. Quotations and Booking
3.1 Quotations: All quotations are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. Quotations are based on the information provided by you and are subject to site survey confirmation.
3.2 Booking Confirmation: A booking is confirmed once you have accepted our quotation and paid any required deposit. We will send you a written confirmation by email.
3.3 Accuracy of Information: You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information about the property, including size, condition, and access arrangements. Any material changes to this information may result in adjustments to the quotation.
4. Payment Terms
4.1 Deposit: For larger projects, we may require a deposit of up to 25% of the total cost to secure your booking. This deposit is non-refundable in the event of cancellation by you within 48 hours of the scheduled service date.
4.2 Payment Methods: We accept payment by bank transfer, credit/debit card, or cash. Payment details will be provided in your booking confirmation.
4.3 Payment Terms: Unless otherwise agreed, full payment is due upon completion of the service. For commercial clients, payment terms may be agreed separately in writing.
4.4 Late Payment: Late payment may incur interest charges at a rate of 4% above the Bank of England base rate, as permitted under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
5. Service Guarantee
5.1 Quality Commitment: We are committed to delivering high-quality cleaning services. If you are not satisfied with any aspect of our work, please notify us within 24 hours of service completion.
5.2 Re-cleaning: Where we agree that our service has not met the agreed standard, we will return to re-clean the affected areas at no additional cost within 48 hours of notification.
5.3 Limitations: Our guarantee does not cover issues arising from pre-existing damage, normal wear and tear, or problems caused by factors outside our control.
6. Cancellation and Rescheduling
6.1 Cancellation by You: You may cancel your booking at any time. However:
- Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled service will receive a full refund of any deposit paid
- Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled service will forfeit any deposit paid
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled service may incur a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the total booking cost
6.2 Rescheduling: You may reschedule your booking free of charge if notification is received at least 48 hours in advance. Rescheduling requests with less notice may incur an administration fee.
6.3 Cancellation by Us: We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule services due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to staff illness, extreme weather, or safety concerns. In such cases, we will provide as much notice as possible and offer to reschedule or provide a full refund.
7. Access and Site Conditions
7.1 Access: You are responsible for ensuring that our team has safe and adequate access to the property at the scheduled time. This includes providing keys, access codes, or making arrangements for entry.
7.2 Utilities: You must ensure that electricity and water are available and accessible throughout the cleaning process.
7.3 Site Safety: If our team arrives and determines that the site is unsafe or not ready for cleaning (e.g., ongoing construction work, hazardous materials present), we reserve the right to postpone the service. In such cases, a rescheduling fee may apply.
7.4 Parking: Where possible, please arrange parking facilities for our team. Any parking charges incurred will be added to the final invoice.
8. Liability and Insurance
8.1 Insurance Coverage: We maintain comprehensive public liability insurance and employers' liability insurance. Our team members are CSCS certified where applicable.
8.2 Limitation of Liability: While we take every care with your property, our liability for any loss, damage, or injury arising from our services is limited to the amount paid for the service in question, except where:
- The loss or damage is caused by our negligence
- The loss relates to death or personal injury
- Limitation of liability is prohibited by law
8.3 Pre-existing Damage: We recommend that you inform us of any pre-existing damage before we commence work. We will not be liable for damage that existed prior to our attendance.
8.4 Valuable Items: Please remove or secure valuable items, important documents, and fragile objects before our arrival. We cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to such items.
9. Client Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information about the property and required services
- Ensure safe access to the property
- Remove or secure valuable and fragile items
- Inform us of any special requirements or concerns
- Ensure that building work is complete before our scheduled cleaning
- Provide adequate ventilation during and after cleaning
- Make payment in accordance with these Terms
10. Health and Safety
10.1 Our Commitment: We adhere to all relevant health and safety legislation and regulations, including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002.
10.2 Risk Assessment: We conduct risk assessments for all jobs and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and cleaning materials.
10.3 Hazardous Materials: If we encounter any hazardous materials (such as asbestos) during our work, we will stop immediately and notify you. Specialist removal may be required before cleaning can proceed.
11. Data Protection
We process your personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details of how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
12. Intellectual Property
All content on our website, including text, images, logos, and designs, is the property of The After Builders Cleaning Company or our licensors and is protected by UK copyright and trademark laws. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute any content without our written permission.
13. Complaints Procedure
If you have a complaint about our service:
- Contact us within 24 hours of service completion by email or phone
- Provide details of your complaint and, where possible, photographic evidence
- We will acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours
- We will investigate and respond with a resolution within 5 working days
- If we cannot resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, we will provide details of independent dispute resolution services
14. Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, industrial disputes, fire, flood, storms, or government action.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of law, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
16. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any written quotation or booking confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between you and The After Builders Cleaning Company regarding our services and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
